Atlas, also known as Erik Josten, is a Marvel Comics character with a complex history, often walking the line between hero and villain. He is primarily associated with the Masters of Evil, the Thunderbolts, and the Avengers.

Originally a mercenary and petty criminal, Josten gained superpowers through various means over the years. He initially became Power Man, possessing enhanced strength and durability. Later, he received ionic energy enhancement from Count Nefaria, briefly becoming one of the Ani-Men. These powers granted him greater strength and the ability to grow to immense size.

Josten is most recognizable as Atlas, which he adopted as his alias while part of the Thunderbolts, a team initially posing as heroes but secretly composed of villains. His ability to alter his size has become his signature power, making him a formidable opponent. Despite his villainous past, he has shown moments of heroism and loyalty, contributing to teams like the Avengers and wrestling with his internal conflicts.
